NEED A FALL FELLOWSHIP REGISTRATION FORM?

Fellow Arrowmen,

Tupwee is continuing to make strides in achieving Quality Lodge for the year 2008.  While we are proceeding forward per our plan your assistance is still needed and appreciated.  Please try to attend the fall fellowship at the new Rocky Mountain High Adventure Base, just up the highway from the old adventure base.  Two important areas of need for Quality Lodge are membership growth and Brotherhood conversion.  Scoutmasters, if you are aware of an elected scouted that has not yet done his ordeal please try to encourage him to attend the fellowship.  If transportation is an issue let me know and we will make arrangements accordingly.  The same goes for Ordeal members that have 10 months of membership.  They are now qualified to seal their membership as Brotherhood members; all they have to do is show up.

Fellowships are always a good experience and well worth the time, and besides, there is plenty of good quality food to be had, Bill & Linda McIntire make sure of that.

If you have any questions concerning the event please call me at the office number shown on my e-signature.  Call anytime as it rings forward to my cell phone automatically if I am not in the office.

An agenda will follow in a few days.

 Yours in Service

Brothers,

I'm pleased to announce that the 2009 OA High Adventure applications
for OA Ocean Adventure, OA Trail Crew and OA Wilderness Voyage are now
available on the OA High Adventure website,
http://adventure.oa-bsa.org. Be sure to sign up as soon as possible.
The 2008 programs were sold out by January 1 of this year. So submit
your applications today!

Since 2009 is a NOAC year, each program will be running a condensed
schedule leading up to the Conference. Additionally, as we have done in
the past few years priority for the OA Ocean Adventure program will be
given to past participants of OA Trail Crew and OA Wilderness Voyage.

The fees for each program are as follows:

OA Trail Crew - $200
OA Ocean Adventure - $500
OA Wilderness Voyage - $150

These programs are for youth between the ages of 16 and 21. Each of the three program is an unique 2-week experience where Arrowmen combine the ideals of brotherhood, cheerfulness and service in the out of doors.

During 1 of the 2 weeks, Arrowmen will provide meaningful service to each of the program's locales. Some will help build portage trails in the Boundary Waters, others will assist in keeping our oceans pristine while others will build lasting trails in the backcountry at Philmont. The other week will be the trip/experience of a lifetime through a self-designed trip!

Also, the OA High Adventure Promotions team is putting on a CONTEST for past participants of each program. Each month starting in September, we will be featuring  a photos and quotes from past participants on the OA High Adventure website. There are prizes to be had so please check out http://adventure.oa-bsa.org for more information.

Please contact me off-list at DaveNguyen191@aol.com if you have any additional questions.

In the Spirit of Adventure,
Dave Nguyen

Dues Reminder

If you have not paid your 2008 dues you will be missing out on some exciting opportunities and awesome activities the lodge has planned for this year. Dues are only $5 for youth and $10 for adults. You need to fill out the dues form, which you can download from above, and mail it to the scout office as soon as possible. Don't miss one exciting moment - get your dues in now!

Founder's Award

Introduced at the 1981 National Order of the Arrow Conference, the Founder's Award was created to honor and recognize those Arrowmen who have given outstanding service to their lodge. The award is reserved for an Arrowmen who demonstrate to fellow Arrowmen that he or she memorializes in his or her everyday life the spirit of achievement as described by founder E. Urner Goodman and cofounder Carroll A. Edson. In 2008, this very special Award goes to Travis Borah and Ryan Rush Miller for their help to the Tupwee Lodge.
