Jamboree Troop Filling - Sign up NOW!

"A once in a life time opportunity" is how the Jamboree Troop Scoutmaster, Kevin Kelly described the 100th Anniversary National Jamboree. The RMC Troop is going to be a part of history and you can be there. This is the 100th anniversary of Scouting in the United States and the last time a National Jamboree will be at Ft. A.P. Hill. The Troop will be on tour in our Nation's capital and many of the other historic sites. If you want to see the Lincoln statue up close, touch "The Wall", stand next to the refection pool of the Washington monument, or see what the "eternal flame" is, then do not waste another second. Council Camps Offer Family Camping

Grab the kids, pack the car, load up the camera - Family Camping has arrived at both Council Camps! Enjoy, aquatics, shooting sports, hiking, biking and much more.*  This opportunity is open to both Scouting and non-Scouting individuals and groups. Coffee Sale Helps Send Scouts to 2010 Jamboree

We are now offering our own Private Label Coffee that we are selling to raise money for the National Jamboree Troop. All of the proceeds go to the Jamboree Troop. It is solar roasted here in Pueblo, CO by Solar Roast Coffee. We have ground and whole bean USDA Certified Organic coffee in three different favors. Scoutmaster's Blend, San Isabel Morning, and High Adventure Blend Coffees are available at the Scout Shop or call the office at 719-561-1220. All roasts are available in ground or whole bean. Price is just $10 per bag. Help support our youth as they participate in this historic trip to our Nations Capital and Scouting's 100th year celebration!

GOOD TURN WEEK
March 7-13, 2010

"Do a Good Turn Daily" - a slogan of the Boy Scouts and a principle adopted by community groups across the nation. It is cry which calls citizen to action. March 7-13 will be the week communities will focus on returning to their communities. Groups will planning projects, both short term and long term, which will benefit their communities. Fun, excitement and adventure!  -   What is the Boy Scouts?

On February 25th the Boy Scouts of America will be featured category on the famed gamed show Jeopardy. Jeopardy has been a top-rated television game show for several year. This will be an exciting opportunity to promote Scouting and its programs. Be sure to stay tuned for the entire show, including the commercial breaks, as the Boy Scouts will be spotlighted during the first and and second commercial breaks. Check your local listings for the stations and times in your area.

This year marks a great milestone for Scouting in the United States - 100 years of service! Activities are planned throughout the year that you will not want to miss. The Boy Scouts of America is the nation's foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training.

  • Instill in young people lifetime values and develop in them ethical character as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law;
  • Train young people in citizenship, service, and leadership;
  • Serve America's communities and families with its quality, values-based program

Rocky Mountain Council - The Future

From the vast expanses of the windswept high plains to the highest peaks in Colorado, the  Rocky Mountain Council of the Boy Scouts of America provides program services to 30,233 square miles of southern Colorado. The council partners with over 100 chartered partner organizations, delivering the Scouting program to more than 5,000 youth through 167 Scouting units in 19 counties of Southern Colorado, including:  Alamosa, Baca, Bent, Chaffee, Conejos, Costilla, Crowley, Custer, Fremont, Huerfano, Kiowa, Lake, Las Animas, Mineral, Otero, Prowers, Pueblo, Rio Grande, and Saguache Counties.

The Significance and use of the 2009 - 2013 Strategic Plan
This Strategic Plan will guide the Council Executive Board, all volunteer Scouters with the Council and all active supporters of the Scouting movement in the Council for the next five years. The plan provides the monthly reporting base for the Executive Board Vice-Presidents and should serve to measure our success in achieving these goals.

The council maintains the Estes Scout Service Center at 411 S. Pueblo Boulevard, Pueblo, CO 81005, which is open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and may be reached by calling (719) 561-1220. 

In addition to the Service Center, the council maintains and operates two camps; San Isabel Scout Ranch located in Rye, CO., and Rocky Mountain High Adventure Base near Salida, CO.  The camps offer seasonal programs to youth from throughout Colorado and surrounding states, and are an important part of our Cub Camping program.
